Barclaycard is announcing the launch of ‘Share the Stage’, a series of music shows broadcast online and hosted by Fearne Cotton, that continues its focus on offering customers access to the best in entertainment.

As the UK faces a summer without live music events, Barclaycard will broadcast four unique music shows online from the iconic Abbey Road Studios, delivering entertainment straight to the sofas of music fans across the country.

‘Share the Stage’ will feature excusive headline performances from artists including Lewis Capaldi, Mabel, Bastille and Kaiser Chiefs, that have been recorded especially for Barclaycard. Each headliner will be supported by an up-and-coming talent, providing a platform to amplify acts who will miss out on festival slots and live gigs this summer – performances that are crucial in establishing artists on the music scene. Each headliner will also cover a song by their support act.

Whilst each instalment of ‘Share the Stage’ will be available to all music fans, Barclaycard customers will have further access to exclusive perks, including behind the scenes footage and unseen interviews as well as the chance to win incredible prizes from some of the artists.

The first ‘Share the Stage’ show kicks off on the 2nd July with performances from Kaiser Chiefs, 21-year-old singer/songwriter, Gracey, and Jetta – who is widely regarded as ‘one of 2020’s brightest breakthrough talents’. The show will be broadcast on YouTube, and can be accessed through www.barclaycard.co.uk.

Recorded across the legendary Studio One and Studio Two at Abbey Road, each show sees artists reminisce about their favourite festivals and chat to Fearne about what they’ve recently been up to in an exclusive interview, before taking to the stage to perform.

Performances from Lewis Capaldi and ascendant soul singer, Celeste, winner of BBC Sound of 2020, will air on the 9th July, with Lewis providing an emotive rendition of Celeste’s hit track, ‘Strange’.

Chart topper Mabel and alt-pop band Bastille will headline the two remaining shows.

Dan Mathieson, Head of Sponsorship at Barclaycard, said: “We’re thrilled to be working with such an exciting pool of both established and emerging talent to launch ‘Share the Stage’. Festivals and live entertainment events are not only a chance for music fans to enjoy their favourite artists, but they give up-and-coming acts a platform to perform that is integral to success in the early stages of their careers. ‘Share the Stage’ hopes to make up for some of the disappointment of not being able to perform this year, whilst continuing to bring the best in entertainment to customers who have lost their summer of live this year.”

“Our network of partners will also give customers access to exclusive perks such as behind the scenes footage, unseen interviews and the opportunity to win some incredible prizes, enabling them to create an immersive festival experience from the comfort of their own homes.”

Fearne Cotton, radio presenter and ‘Share the Stage’ host, said: “I’ve been a fan of festivals for as long as I can remember, and from interviewing artists over the years, I know just how important a summer packed full of live performances is in establishing yourself when you’re just starting out. So, when Barclaycard approached me to host ‘Share the Stage’, I jumped at the chance. Not only do I get to chat to some of today’s biggest artists about their favourite festival memories, but I get to introduce some of the most exciting up-and-coming talent and capture incredible performances by both – what more could you want?”

Two-time Brit Award winner and ‘Share the Stage’ artist, Lewis Capaldi, said: “It’s an honour to be involved in helping to support some of the incredible new artists coming through that I’ve been following and am a big fan of. Live music played a huge part in helping me in the past couple of years so I feel for the amazing new acts who can’t get out there and play this year. I’m excited to be a small part of helping support new music in the UK at the moment.”

Brits Female Solo Act of 2020 and ‘Share the Stage’ artist, Mabel, said: “Being on stage has been integral to my growth as an artist over the past few years, especially when I’ve had the chance to perform alongside some of my own idols. Right now, there’s so much incredible talent in the UK just waiting to be seen and heard. Whilst none of us can step on stage physically this summer, it’s great to be part of an initiative that is going some way to give emerging artists the platform they deserve.”

To help customers recreate the full festival experience at home, Barclaycard has curated a selection of downloadable food and drink tutorials and interactive content, including a breakfast bap tutorial from MOB Kitchen, a ginger beer recipe from Fish Wings & Tings and a burger making guide from Co-Op x BOSH! Boys.

An extensive media campaign across digital and social channels will support each element of the ‘Share the Stage’ series.
